REACH for the floor

20 Apr REACH for the floor

Reach for the FloorNew Flex Design from Forbo Flooring Systems is a development of the traditional loose-lay vinyl tile commonly used in retail, hospitality and offices, which furthers not just the design potential for specifiers and end-users, but also provides an excellent environmental option as a result of its European manufacture, high recycled content and REACH compliance.

Flex Design has been designed to create better environments by offering the traditional access floor/modular tile format in inspirational designs and finishes, which combine well with other carpet tile and LVT ranges in the Forbo portfolio.

The collection encompasses abstract and traditional woods, concrete, stone, sand and metallic woven designs, heightening the breadth of choice available for high-quality, contemporary loose-lay design.

Collection highlights include the linear design of the Seagrass planks (100 x 20cm), which is inspired by wood but interpreted in a more unusual way. Multi-coloured and with a smooth graining, the resulting effect is a modern take on the popular wood choice. Meanwhile, the metallic woven designs (50 x 50cm) offer a soft textured yet stylishly contemporary effect, available in four different muted metal colours.

The tiles and planks offer exceptional dimensional stability due to the incorporation of a glassfibre fleece, combined with multiple calandered layers. The backing has two components: a Forbo-specific foamed backing to ensure the tile lays flat and stays flat, and a solid backing with recycled content for balance and comfort.

On top, a 1mm transparent calandered wearlayer delivers superior strength, durability and clear visibility, while the PUR Pearl lacquer delivers stain resistance, ease of maintenance and a natural matt appearance.

Manufacture is now at one of Forbo’s European production sites, so specifiers can rest assured that the collection meets the highest European standards and is REACH (Registration Evaluation Authority and Restriction of Chemicals) compliant. Shorter delivery time and competitive pricing can therefore be guaranteed, making Flex Design suitable for commercial, office, retail and hospitality projects.
